AdventureBumss Van conversions

AdventureBumss is a van conversion shop in Auburn, California, in the Sierra Nevada foothills northeast of Sacramento. Founded by Eric and Candace Malan, who built their own Sprinter in 2019, lived in it full-time for nine months, and turned the experience into a business. The LLC was formalized in 2021. The shop builds on Sprinter, Transit, and ProMaster platforms, offering three signature layouts — the Redwood, Sierra, and Sequoia — as well as fully custom builds and partial conversions. They also do complete gut-and-rebuild renovations of existing camper vans. Cabinetry is cut on an in-house CNC machine using marine-grade Baltic birch with Formica coating, and countertops are bamboo. Electrical systems use Victron components with LiFePO4 batteries and rooftop solar. AdventureBumss also sells van conversion products and parts through brand partnerships with GoCode, Sequence Engineering, Tetravan, and others. Pricing is quote-based and not published, though the shop positions itself toward the more accessible end of the custom conversion market. As of early 2026, they are booking builds for summer 2026.
